SPECIAL REPORT: ARE YOU SAVING ENOUGH?
Two-thirds of 1,600 visitors to menshealth.com have a 401(k), 403(b), or IRA account, but only 20% of them are putting 10% or more into them. Twenty-one percent haven’t saved at all! Men’s Health wants you to retire rich, so we asked a handful of money experts across the country for their best no-hassle tips – simple ways to save more without denying the things that make life worth living. The result? 9 simple ways to build 7 figures. Among them:
*Create a Personal Expense account – 70% of us have a savings account, but less than 50% use it; 30% of us pay overdraft or late fees due to insufficient funds to pay the bills. Solution: A checking account for household expenses.
*Stop your ATM Addiction – 30% make most purchases with good old cash; 50% use the debit card. Visiting the ATM machine more than once a week is a red flag. Solution: Take out the cash you need for the week and make it last.
*Put an extra $10 Toward Your Credit Card Bill – 1 in 5 of us owes more than a month’s salary and makes minimum payments. Solution: Add just $10 to your minimum payment and you’ll save thousands.
ALSO: What to Buy When: Before you invest in that new car, vacation, mutual fund or furniture, make sure you know when – it can save you thousands.

HOW CHARITABLE IS YOUR CITY? MH GRADES 100 CITIES ON GIVING BACK
Americans donated $273 billion to charity in 2005. Impressive, unless you live in Atlanta, GA, which ranks #1 on MH’s list of the most charitable cities in America, where people give more per capita than in any other major metropolis. Also at the top: Washington, DC (#2), Wilmington, DE (#3), San Francisco, CA (#4), and St. Paul, MN (#5).

TOO CLEAN FOR YOUR OWN GOOD? HOW YOUR CLEANLINESS CAN HURT YOU
Q-tipping your way to an ear infection? Addicted to nasal sprays? Washing your skin clean off? There is a fine line between staying clean and a "healthy obsession." Turns out your hyper-hygiene can land you in a world of hurt. Thankfully, MH has some guidelines to make sure your personal hygiene doesn’t spill across into self-destruction.

WHY DON’T HOSPITALS AUTOPSY ANYMORE?
Back in 1970, 60% of hospital deaths were autopsied. Today? Just 10%. "Doctors tend to believe that with all of their tests and scans, they know exactly why the person died," says George Lundberg, M.D., and past president of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. "But technology is fallible, and doctors can miss something if an autopsy is not performed." A review in the Journal of the American Medical Association reports that of the 850,000 annual hospital deaths, the cause is misdiagnosed in 8% of cases. And, of course, what goes undetected, goes untreated. While most of us think of autopsies in the CSI sense, they used to be more or less standard practice for verifying the hospital patient’s cause of death. So what happened? ALSO: A list of hospitals with the highest autopsy rate.
